I played a few American Specials in the store, but liked the SSS version better. I usually go for Rosewood fretboard guitars, but the tone of the SSS version was exactly what I has looking for.

Do you have a GDEC-3? The guitar might sound quite different on another amp. I know my present guitars sound completely different through the 2 other amps I have.

I presently play a 2000 maple american strat. It plays very well for sure but I also enjoy my rosewood Ibanez Prestige. Two very different axe for sure but a rw strat would be cool too!
No I don't have the GD3 but I used a Cyber-Deluxe in the past quite a bit so I know how's a GDEC sounds and how it's built.

No presently I use mainly... a tonelab for my home recordings. ( I want to stay in good terms with the neibourghs!) but also use a Peavy Valveking (Yes I know, but it sounds great to my ears!)

Congrats on the decision on the American Special. I just cannot say enough good things about these guitars. Excellant choice.
