Well, it doesn'$@!& just that when I become enamored with a product, I like to know how the manufacturer operates - it's interesting to me. And at this point, Fender marketing leaves me scratching my head.

Well, just unlax. Before long they'll be telling us about how far superior these new pickups are to the SCN's, how they came to develop them and why, and all about the awesome tones you can wring out of the new circuitry. 8) Meanwhile, take care about the splinters.

Doc

Not sure what unlax means but rest assured I'm fully relaxed - no splinters to be found.

(In case you thought I was cussing earlier - I wasn't. For some reason, my use of "doesn't" turned into doesn'$@!&)

And a 3 positions blade is certainly wrong. Usuall 5 way switch would make more sens!

Why oh why Fender USA isn't involved in that new strat release? What's happening with fender marketing's staff? Or maybe there is no more a marketing department at fender because of the tough times?

No offense intended. When you've been around me awhile you'll get a sense of my warped sense of humor. "Unlax"????.....is Bugs Bunny-eze
for 'relax'. Just showing my age.

A new generational divide is Looney Tunes literacy. Now they are even trying to retcon those cartoons to political correctness. Sad, sad days indeed.

No offense received, doc. I figured you meant relax, but completely missed the Bugs reference. As someone who never missed the silly rabbit in the 60s on Sat. mornings, I should'a got it. Speaking of age ... Bugs Bunny is around 70!

I've got an answer from Fender about the marketing department. Indeed, all it's staff would have been dismissed it seems. But this is not exactly the truth. The truth is that, actually, they all are know working for Gibson!

Except that this thread in particular, including all the supposition thats taking place on it. Is doing just that, marketing a new guitar.

So you rang fender customer services and got a recorded message saying , "Sorry all our employees in this department are now working for Gibson".

Actually, not exactly. I got:
For informations on our Les Paul models: press 1
For informations on our SG models: press 2
For informations on our Reissue models: press 3
To speak to a Gibson custommer representative, please hold the line.

On a different thread I posted that I had played one of the new Deluxe Telecasters. The compound radius threw me at first but I could get used to it. I'm still waiting for my local store to get the new Deluxe Strats they'll call me as soon as they come in; hopefully this week or next.

I'm guessing that you won't see an official roll out until the Summer NAMM convention. Elderly instuments has taken their info on the new Strats off of their website...The European merchandising show Musikmesse? is in April in Germany so that might explain why the other site is advertising it. My favorite Serbian Ana Popovich is playing for Fender at their stage that week.
