...et voila! you get an American Deluxe Strat HSS LT with the new N3 noiseless pickups and the Passing Lane Switch without the price tag!

Yep very cool. But how do these "possible new fender's noiseless N3" sound? How are they built? Which magnet is used?(N3 = AlNiCo 3 ?) We have no informations, no specs yet, no answers.

And btw, Fender never put their name on any of their pups I know about. Why would it be different this time?

Fender, you should come up here and tell us what's going on!

I know that The Doc will like the soft V necks!!

I would like to know the specs on the N3 pickups though. You say it has only a 3 position switch plus 2 positions on the new S1 switch?
The buyers that ran out and bought a 09 MIA Deluxe because they heard they were being discontinued might be having second thoughts now!!

These N3 beauties work fine with the S1 switch and (perhaps) the active mid-boost circuit of the Eric Clapton model.

One of my personal intentions is to hot-rod the Eric Clapton Strat with the following "HOT" pickup configuration:

Hot SCN (Neck)

Hot VN (Middle)

Hot N3 (Bridge)

and replace the TBX tone circuit with the better-sounding Greasebucket.

The Hot SCN/VN/N3 combo makes for an extremely versatile axe which produces a wide variety of tones ranging from classic blues to howling rock.

I'm not a luthier and I didn't have any experience with electronics.

It's just an idea about how to make an extremely versatile and good-sounding blues-rockin' axe.

The Hot SCN/VN/N3 combo is a good alternative to the Blue/Silver/Red and Emerald/Silver/Purple Lace pickup layouts.

I didn't have any idea about how the Passing Lane system works. Fender claims that "the Passing Lane is a push-push switch which bypasses the no-load tone circuit on the bridge-position pickup."

My friend, how can you know that those N3 work fine? Did I miss something or you already have one of these strat already?

The N3 work in conjunction with the S1 switch. Subsequently, they might also work flawlessly with the Clapton active circuit as well.

I didn't own any of those new Strats, they're extremely expensive.

However, I would purchase a set of N3s and put 'em on my brother's black Squier Silver Strat to make a try.

For sure they might work but how do they will sound? How do these pups really sound? That's the question! No one can answer that question being that no one played or heard that strat yet. Isn't it?

As for the sound, I'm so excited to watch a demo of these brand-new Deluxe Series guitars on YouTube to post my personal opinion.

+1. If they aren't available yet how do you know what they are like?

Distributors who violate their agreement with Fender should be banished!

I totally agree! 8)

How do you know anyone has violated any kind of agreement? How do you know that fender hasnt ordered a shop on every continent to put out a bit of info on the up coming release (16/3) to drum up intrest? I can certainly see how it has.

That would be a pretty odd way to operate. All Fender has to do to "drum up interest" is to issue a press release - could be as simple as "updated series coming". Even without giving any details, it'd be far more effective. No other company I know of would pick an arguably obscure seller to quietly offer up unannounced goods for sale to spur interest as part of a business strategy. First, there's a risk of upsetting other resellers (and those who probably make up the majority of Fender's sales). If I were MF/GC corp., I wouldn't be happy that xyz-guitars could begin taking pre-orders before I was allowed to. Second, not every shop can be a Fender Authorized reseller - hence you can bet there absolutely is some sort of agreement in place and it's likely that part of the agreement is not talking about new stuff before it's announced.

Maybe Fender doesn't care or maybe they do ... but my guess is that these guys are simply operating outside the guidelines.

StratShooter

Both Fender and Gibson make their prospective outlets jump through hoops of fire before they are allowed to sell their product. I cant imagine a outlet getting very far by making a complaint to FMIC about their allowing another shop to advertize or take orders for a upcoming model. Infact I suspect that they encourage them taking orders so there is no time period between product release and sales. Games console manufacturers have done it for years.

Makes perfect sense to me.

Well I pitched one serious b---h in '04 when they released the Deluxe w/o a V-neck option. Even wrote a letter to Bill about it (Rest in peace!). I go out and order a CS Strat next year and that year they put the v-neck option in. Finally got payback with the deal on my Deluxe VG in April '09. Still, the two best necks of that ilk IMHO remain the Clapton and the '57Hotrod.

I love the passion of this pre-release issue. Seems to me what underlies it all is whether or not a hoax is being perpetuated. Patience y'all. When the company gets ready, they're gonna fill your face with the usual 'greatest thing since sliced bread' yadayada. Meantime, go out and find a dealer who has one and play the damn thing. You can't have your pudding until you eat your meat! 8)

Frank, I hope Louisiana is as nice today as Florida. Best day of the 10 I've been here. Been dozing poolside and enjoying the last few hours. I have to be on 7:15 pm flight north. Meanwhile, I'll finish browsing the Forums and catch
y'all down the road a piece.

Bummer :?

Doc
