Did you know that the American Deluxe series got an overhaul for 2010?

The Strat has been updated with a trio of newly-designed N3 noiseless pickups with a hot bridge pickup for extra punch and sustain and a reconfigured S-1 switching system. It also got the same gloss on the fretboards like the American Standard models. Also available with an ash body and a V-shaped maple neck.

The HSS model adds a DH-1 Atomic humbucking pickup in the bridge and two N3s in the neck and middle positions which are wound extra hot for proper balance with the humbucker. The S-1 system now includes a new "Passing Lane" switch which bypasses the no-load tone circuit on the bridge pickup. The HSS also features an LSR Roller Nut (sorry, there isn't an HSS LT version available, Fender dropped the locking bridge option as of 2007.)

It's not a joke!

I've checked the new American Deluxes on Elderly:

I agree with StratShooter, Fender's official page hasn't been updated yet with the newer US Deluxe models.

I never heard everything about the new tungsten and sunset metallic finishes. The ash body models are available in the classic cherry sunburst, olympic white pearl and midnight wine transparent colors.

The 2010 American Deluxe dropped Montego Black Metallic w/ Beveled Gold Vinyl pickguard, introduced in 2004.

PS: All US Deluxe Series guitars will feature compound radiused fretboards.

If it's not available on Fender.com (USA), it's not elsewhere. So...

Cool - thanks for the links.

If I remember right, it was the Thomann site that listed the new American Specials even before they were announced by Fender. I'm sure Fender has some sort of agreement with resellers that prohibits this, but maybe Thomann doesn't care about it.

US Deluxes.

The American Specials are already featured on Fender's official Webpage.

no, im sure its not an agreement.
rather than the sellers received an unofficial notice by fender, so theyre posting their new stock.
the other more reputable companies, will not post anything unless its official by fender.
my 2 cents.

i do agree the
N3s are scn pickups, perhaps slightly overwound.
the black vneck looks cool.

um... If Fender USA can't control what their distributors do, who can? Distributors who violate their agreement with Fender should be banished!

That being said, I have an American Strat with the Mr.Bill Turner Hot Noiseless pups and those pups really rocks! Guenine strat tone with about 80-90% less hum. They quack like hell. The bridge may be a little weak but raise the pups a bit more than the spec and it cuts thourgh the mix no probs
and they rock also with distortion.

Very good pups, underrated in my book. I talk about the HOT NOISELESS not the Vintage Hot Noiseless. Two completly diffrent annimals.

Ymmv for sure.

I totally agree! 8)

Please note that the Hot Noiseless pickups had dual-coil ceramic magnets. They're the same pickups used on the Jeff Beck Artist and Custom Artist signature models.

It's a shame that the new Deluxe HSS didn't feature the locking bridge option. The Deluxe locking tremolo was very useful, especially with heavy tremolo abusers. I wonder for which reason Fender discontinued the Floyd Rose-designed deluxe locking bridge assembly in 2007.

Right, but at the time (a few months ago), they weren't and someone made a similar post to yours about (the then) unannounced American Special. Note my use of past tense in the previous post.

I'll be surprised if we don't see something official from Fender by Monday. One of those resellers are giving a 3/12 "arrival" date.

Fender/Floyd tremolos can be found on eBay and retrofitted easily on the new Deluxe HSS guitars.

Every guitarist can transform the new Deluxe HSS guitar into an HSS LT without problem.

Simply replace the stock 2-point bridge with the Deluxe Locking Assembly et voila! you get an American Deluxe Strat HSS LT with the new N3 noiseless pickups and the Passing Lane Switch without the price tag!
