On Monday I bought a Jimmy Vaughn Strat after trying out several other Strats as it had the feel and sound most like my old '65.Anyway I've noticed that the middle pup doesn't have a tone control, the rear tone pot controls the bridge pup and the only way to get any tone control from the middle pup is by using the 2 or 4 switch position so the neck and bridge tone pots affect the tone.Is this the set up in all Jimmy Vaughn Strats or is mine an anomaly? My 65 and my '00 MIM Strats have the bridge pup with no tone control and the rear control for the mid and my '04 50th Ann has the rear control affecting both the bridge and mid so it appears this must be yet another configuration.

That's the way Jimmy likes it. How do you like the guitar and neck?

No problem, that's exactly how they're supposed to come. :D I actually enjoy having the bridge pickup wired to the back tone pot, it really helps take the bite off. But I have both my neck and middle pickup wired to the other tone control. Any guitar tech should be able to fix it however you like if you're bothered by it.

Congrats on the new guitar by the way. :D

Thanks for the info folks,if that's the way he intended the guitars to be I'll leave it like that especially since he actually played mine in a music store where it was part of a Fender Days Display.I love the way it plays and feels,it is the only guitar yet that has come so close to the feel and sound of my original 65 Strat so that's quite an acheivement.
