I agree, the Boss AC-3 is a good simulator. On my guitar the neck or middle positions sound the best when using this pedal. The Roland Cube amps have a AC-3 simulator built in. I almost bought the pedal until I got the amp that had it built in.

I just watched and listened to the video on the link,it's certainly a lot more convincing acoustic sound than I can get out of my Vox AD120.What's the list price on these?

I've played my brother's black Squier Silver Series Strat with this one:

Nowadays, I'm using his Digitech GNX3000 pedalboard, which renders the acoustic guitar tones much better than my 504II.

The acoustic simulator in the MCube is nothing compared to the AC-3.
Get an AC-3 as well, it's worth it

Hello!

If it were me, i'd consider installing the Graph Tech Ghost Pickup System. It would require you to modify you strat with additional switches etc, but all do-able. I have not installed it or tried it out myself as I have a Godin XTSA with an acoustic emulator built in but I have seriously considered it as part of a future strat build. It s not cheap and any of the previous options listed may well be the answer if a quick fix is what your after. It is however another option for you to ponder.

Here's a few links to check it out.

Hope this Helps

Enjoy!

If it were me, I'd bite the bullet and bring an acoustic. I also have a Godin (mine's an LGX), and although the piezo is nice for fattening up tones, if you AB it with a real acoustic - it's really not that close. I have several acoustic sims and still have a couple - but I never use them. I have a thin-line acoustic I sometimes take to gigs, but when we record I use a dreadnought.

I totally agree, the piezo is a nice feature, but its no match for a real acoustic.

There are still some discontinued VG Stratocasters around. And in this opinion an under-rated, truly excellent guitar.

And a turn of the knob does "acoustic" nicely.

I have a Clapton Crossroads pedal which I believe has been discontinued or you can find one on ebay. It has 7 great tones in it with an acoustic similator of Claptons Martin which is excellent also it has a Leslie Speaker setting like on Badge and just those two settings were worth the price of the pedal, and you get 5 more.
