Seeing Internet references disappear, but I had to let the Guitar Center guy know it looks like the American Standard Deluxe HSS looked like it was becoming extinct. Anyone know the story?

Do a search on this topic within the forum. Seems like the Am Dlx is a dying breed - for now. Fender will probably revamp the line a la the American Standard. Then everybody will want one again.

Yeah, I did a search and wasn't coming up with anything. GC was out. I've been prepping for a purchase and was deciding between the Am Standard and the AS Deluxe, and was starting to lean toward the latter. Really am not seeing much tonal value in the S-1 switch though, so I think I'm going to get the plain Am Standard and put a roller nut and locking tuners on in the future.

Sure glad I have both of mine. If they're a dying breed that's damned shame. If it's true I might even go out and buy another while I still can.
