I would be remiss if I didn't add in Buddy Holly, Peter Green ("Albatross" is Strat and may be the best tone ever),Johnny Meeks, Tommy Bolin, Roy Wood, Paul Kossoff (Strat in later years-my fave Les Paul player), Mark Knopfler, Steve Winwood, Adrian Belew, Curtis Mayfield, Ernie Isley, Dick Dale and David Gilmour (only lately have begun to appreciate to the fullest). I haven't mentioned Clapton or SRV because they are not my faves. Moral of the story is the crazy amount of Strat players this question made me think of, yet I had to strain to fill out a Top 10 of Les Paul players that I was ga-ga about.

The artist who convinced me that I had to play the blues was Luther Allison. Ordinarily known for an LP (Gibsons in general), on the night I saw him back in 1970, he happened to be playing a white Strat.
