Nice! Very Stevie Ray Vaughn-ish.

Srvish, cool, I wasn't really going for that
I was trying to match it's attitude, it's vibe.
I was going go install tele knobs. But I
really liked the vintage pu covers, knobs ,
etc.
It was more of therapy for my severe
GAS. Next r locking tuners.

Love the locking tuners on my Highway 1. I really would not have gotten them except I had one dud Ping tuner on mine. I figured if I was going to spend money on tuners, then get some really good ones.

I live near The Woodlands, Texas but most Forumites know Houston better. The only pick-up I replaced was the bridge single coil for a Dimarzio Super Distortion DP 100. I love the neck and middle for their tones, but I needed more umph when playing some heavier stuff. Not sure if you have seen my Highway 1, I used to have it in my signature.

thanks stray, i thought the black was the innexpensive route to change the look to match its attitude.
feels like a strat, sounds like a strat, but like a mudda rockin strat.
has a better feel than my cp 60s.

I have modified mine pretty heavily. It now sports a "F" neck plate, "F" locking tuners, white pearloid pickguard, black plastic accessaries, Dimarzio 500K volume pot, and a Dimarzio SD SP100 humbucker. My Highway 1 now looks like this:

Of course I have all the orginal parts to restore it if I ever decide to do that. When I took it in to the shop for it's annual tune-up, they could not believe it was the same guitar they sold me.
