I only play in my house so a 15w is fine for me. I have my eye on the Fender Frontman Series. Can anyone give some input / feedback (no pun intended) on these amps. And, a comparable Marshall or Vox - out of these three, which one do you recommend..?

Thanks,

Whichever one you get the best deal on as the whole genre of low wattage, solid state imported amps are fundamentally the same save for the cosmetics. They are what they are and sound accordingly. Some crap out in a matter of months, some last for years. With these it is truly, "the luck of the draw", regardless of brand.

I got a Frontman 25R for home use, because my guitar store told me the difference in speaker from the 15 to the 25 was significant. All I know is that it sounds great clean, and handles pedals well. I'm usually at maybe 3 or 4 (tops) in the house.

I spent 200 on a 65 r, I'm really happy with it. Clean and overdrive sound perfect, and the reverb is spectacular on the clean channel. I've never gone over volume 2. Relatively portable though kinda heavy. Definitely worth every penny and probably more. Sounds great with pedals too.

X2! Although I did replace the stock speaker with an Eminence Ragin' cajun. 8)

I got my 25R for $149 minus a trade in. I did just see a Craigslist ad for a used one on $60.

I have been looking at the FM 212DSP for a while... I would not hesitate to swap my current two amps in for an upgrade to one of those. I, at first, was considering the Frontman 212R but no headphone jack is a deal-breaker for me. 8)

How does the 25R sound with headphones? I have a VOX AD50VT that I use but the headphone volume is terrible! Not that I want to blow out my eardrums or anything but I would like to be able to get some decent volume when wearing headphones...

I haven't tried the headphone out, or not in a while. I've got a POD XT Live that I generally use for headphone output. I'll try it tonight (the FR headphone out) and let you know.

Same as frontman 15 g with 15 watts but the similarity ends there. Roland cube got built in effects And got a power squezer that maintain the tone and sustain at low volume good use at night time

Hahaha!! I have a Fender FM212R. Massive 100 watt amp with 2 12" speakers. My ear has become better so the overdrive sounds a bit muddy. I mostly use the clean channel with a bit of reverb. I run my pedalboard into it. With that I can get some pretty amazing tones!!
