I purchased a blizzard pearl, maple neck, strat that has a 60th Anniv neck plate on it but there is no "button" on the back of the headstock. I've heard several different stories that if there's no "button" on the back of the headstock it's not a real 60th Annv model. I've also heard MIM 60th's didn't have the "button". I've heard that only blizzard pearl MIM strats were all 60th's, etc, etc, etc.

Is there a factual way to determine what I bought? Thanks all. Ulti

I have a 60th anniversary MIM Strat. The color is Chrome Red and it has the 60th anniv button on the back of the head stock.

Any strat that was completed in 2006 was assigned the 60th anniversary designation. To confirm what your guitar is, send Fender customer service an e-mail and supply them with your serial number and you will receive a stat sheet with all kinds of interesting info about your specific guitar along with the day, month, and year of it's birth.
