Hey all,

I absolutely love my '06 American Standard Strat but I feel like it's time to change the bridge pickup. I'm in a heavy metal band and I need a single coil pickup that can deliver meatier distortion. I play through a Peavey 6505 head and cab, and this thing sounds great distorted with my humbucker loaded guitars and I just don't want my strat to be left out on gigs... Do you guys have any pickup recommendations that would make my SSS strat sound a bit beefier distorted?

A Dimarzio Super Distortion S should do it. It is acually a Humbucker that is the size of a Single Coil. I have the Super Distortions DP 100 and it rocks. It is the size of a traditional humbucker though. Click on the Strat link and go through the list.

There is also Seymore Duncan. This is also a "bucker" but the size of a single coil.

I like the Duncan single coil sized humbuckers. Either the Hot Rails or Cool Rails sound pretty good with high gain too, just a little (and i mean barely) too much treble for my taste.
