I ordered a new American Standard Stratocaster in the first week of February and at that time the retailer told me it is usually about a two week wait for delivery. About a week ago I was in the store and since it was not delivered yet they told me that they could get an E T A from Fender. I was quite shocked to find out that it will not be here until mid April. I purchased a 52 reissue Tele Hot Rod about a year ago and it was here within two weeks.

Does this sound normal?

Any one else wait that long for delivery?

Waiting one month would be understandable but this will be two and a half months!

Oh well, I must learn to be patient.

Just out of curiosity, which American Standard did you order? Was it one of the more common color/fretboard combinations or one of the less common colors? I could see having to wait longer for a Blizzard Pearl, Candy Cola, Charcoal Frost Metallic or Sienna Sunburst. A 3 Color Sunburst, Olympic White or Black... not so much.

Ah well, patience is a virtue. Good luck on getting your American Standard before April.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
