In order of preference for lead: Positions 3,1. For rhythm: Position 4,2,1,3.... almost never use the bridge pup although I did wire it to the tone control.

I'm using GFS 64' Vintage Wound Staggered Pole Piece Pups... they're cheap and IMHO, sound great. If I could afford a set of Fralin's I'd probably throw down on them but my last project had some budgetary restrictions.

I use mostly position 4 (middle/neck) because I play mostly rhythm, and I think it has a very nice tone with some chorus and delay added.

Here is an example of this... Click Here To Listen

Also... watch the OP's video link and notice how low that guy has his pickups adjusted. All 3 pickup blocks look to be about 2/32nd's from being flush with the body.

usually bridge / middle but I'm moving more towards the bridge alone... I like the bite it has to it. This weekend I'm gonna wire it to tone 2 and install a 7-sound mod, so we'll see how that affects my usage.

60% neck and 40% bridge on my single coil only Strats and 100% bridge on my Hwy 1 HSS Strat.

I like the tone best on the neck, but use them all depending on what the song or room calls for. Mixes are never the same, and sometimes the middle pickup comes in handy for pushing to the front of the line when needed, so to speak...

I'm a neck man.

I go into the bridge or middle position rarely.

I'll go through all five in one solo and switch pedals too. dont even get me started on volume and tone adjustments.

On my usual Strat, I tend to use the middle and neck pickups the most, or a balance of the two (I have a 3-position switch, so "2" and "4" are a matter of finding the sweet spot). The bridge pickup comes into play more if I'm using some sort of dirt or boost pedal. Overall I'm more mellow than savage in my approach. The pickups on that Strat have a very low output, too.

On my ultra, I'd spend more time on the bridge pickups than anywhere else, with the various combinations that the mini-toggle switch and TBX control provide. With the ultra, most of the 5-way switch positions yield some combination involving the bridge pickup(s).

Basically I tend to leave it in the neck. It sounds so nice I forget I have other options.

Truthfully? I couldn't say. I routinely use all 5 positions on my Strats (and all 9 on my Kinman equipped Strat) depending on what I'm doing. I really don't think I use any one position more than the others although I have to admit I prolly use the middle alone the least but I do use it.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Lately, a lot of middle, and mid/bridge. But really, I use them all. As others have said, that's the beauty of a five-way switch.

I'm bad about wearing the neck pickup out on my Strats, not literally, but I tend to overuse it. I play blues mostly and like the tone better.
I just don't like too much treble, and as soon as I got a 57 RI,I had to rewire the tone control to use it for the bridge.
Then I put in Fralins, which to me sound better than the Fender pups, nothing I have stays stock usually.

My Powerhouse Strat has the feature where the tone control is hooked into all 3 pups. I was playing with the bridge this morning and had the 12Db mid-boost on 10 and the tone down around 2 while running it into my little Bugera 5 watt and was getting some pretty sweet but different crunch tones. A little muted... I kinda liked it! 8)
