Wow if everything is on the straight and narrow that is the cleanest 50s Fender I have seen and am really surprised there is a buy it now. Does anyone remember the 62 that sold for over 100 grand 7 or 8 months ago. It was nice but not close to the condition this one is in. I say it is gone some time tomorrow.

That is super sweet! But, I'd rather buy the time machine that the seller used to obtain it.

The grain of the wood is amazing... pretty sweet guitar to say the least.

Not a Fender, but in the same league: a 1959 Gibson LP ends today on eBay:

Wouldn't the pickguard be yellowed, even if it's been stored in it's case since the day it was originally purchased?

It's a beautiful guitar though, it belongs in a museum where no one's belt buckle can rub against it.

it boggles the mind that so many of these strats in such pristine condition are surfacing all the time.

its almost like all these people in the 1950's and 60's got all excited went out, bought the guitar lost interest almost immediately then have the will to keep the object in the cupboard for 60 years. Fender must have made thousands of these things in the early days.

And the pickup covers disintergrate over time. I'm sceptical.

The hue of the burst looks wrong too orange,
Heres a 57 burst

Not sure of the neckpocket either. It seems to have some kind of burst pattern going on too. Very unlike fenders streamlined production of the 50's.
I could be wrong, this thread needs OrvilleOwners expert eye.

What's going on with the bass-side cutaway?

Is that just a trick of the light, or is something wrong there?

I wonder why it's ebay canada, when the seller is in Arakansas? Just to get more hits, I guess.

Well ... it looks quite real to me. That cutaway flaw doesn't show up on other pictures, so it's just some kind of reflection. The pickguard wouldn't have to yellow.

It's a one-piece body!

Wow!

That's very very very nice...ooooooh!

And its funny to think that a mint 1955 strat was number 1 on my list for "Top Ten things you'd like to find under an elderly couples bed"!
