Not to my knowledge. Perhaps this is an NOS? Contact the seller and ask.

I dont know, havnt seen it personally.i dont want to contact the sellers as they would probably tell me some things that i want to hear just so they could sell the product.I once had an experience in a different store which i asked for a japanese 71 reissue and the seller went "oh yes we have one, wait ill get it for you".then he came back with a black 72ri.and i said i want an alder bodied 71 and the guy keeps insisting that its alder and its a 71 when obviously its not.

Yes. They have been recyling serial numbers for quite awhile now.
The "Crafted in Japan" were up to "R" in 2004-2005, so it makes sense that they'd be into the "S" serial numbers now.

The curious thing is that they are now using the "Made in Japan" phrase again.

I've read about that before (from very trusted sources), and now we can see pictorial proof.

By the way CAFeathers, did they answer your email already?i sent them an email asking about the price of the guitar about 2 hours ago and they responded quickly to my email.

I,ve seen these in stores. If its an 80'3 RI, it might be worth$ 600-$800. I have seen early paisley's going for around $1000. I have owned two mij standards and two Kayler contempary strats from the early- late 80's. I sold them for $500-$700. Nice guitars. As good as any am strat for sure.

I have one just like it, but made in 1984, the white body now looks a very pale minty green colour (or maybe it was that when I got it, I dunno!). The only major difference is that one of the pickguard screws is in a different place. The early MIJs had the'second one in (from the neck) at the top, in a slightly different place. The headstock shape is the same as mine - similar to a CBS, but slightly different shape!
