I am considering buying a custom shop strat that does not have it's coa but the sn# indicates that it is a cs model made in 99 (cn9xxxxx ) but I need to know what this guitar was supposed to be and what colors and options would be original , it is a very nice strat but I would like to know what I am really buying .any help is appreciated

Are you sure it's custom shop?

Only reason I ask is that if you look at the bottom of this http://www.fender.com/support/usa_instruments.php it kind of indicates that CNxxxxxx is a korean made squier...

I am aware of the cn prefix also being assigned to the korean fenders but it was also used for the custom shop c for custom n for ninties the next # is the year this one is 9 meaning it was made in 1999 but after that I don't have any idea how to decipher the rest of the code . That is what I need help with.
