What Im thinking is to get a Standard Strat® HSS w/ Locking Tremolo, Rosewood Fretboard, Brown Sunburst guitar with a Pickguard, Strat®, 11 Hole S/S/S Configuration, 4-Ply, White Pearl, 2 white Seymour Duncan Hot Rail Pickup for neck and middle pickups and a white Seymour Duncan Hot Rail Pickup for the bridge, and Schaller Guitar Strap Locks and Buttons (Pair). What do you think? Is this what Dave Murray uses now on his main guitar?

I am not sure if that is exactly what he has, but it sounds like a great shredding Stratocaster. I'd go for it if I was still into Metal exclusively.

I just about finished my Dave Murray project Stratocaster, I posted some pictures on Facebook under the (Fender Stratocaster) fan page. Waiting for the neck to cure and wet or maybe dry sand with 1000, 1500, and 2000 grit sandpaper before I can put it all together. Does anybody know if wet sanding is better than dry sanding? Any input would be great. I can't wait to play it as it sounded great in pre-assembly before finishing the neck! Have a great time with your projects, Bob DeLeon.

I myself went a different route... I didn't like the Artist Signature Dave Murray strat from Fender, so I went 100% custom and am now waiting for my new body and neck from Warmoth. Its more expensive (around $3-4k) but I'm getting exactly what I want and it'll be one of a kind (paint, custom inlay, rare-earth plated hardware). Thank God for the tax return. I can't wait! 8)
