Hi All, Well after after nursing my 08 MIA Standard Strat for nearly 2 years under my bed, I have decided it's time to put this girl to work across many a stage.

Up until now I have only played two festivals with it and after completing my own full set up of her and floating the tremelo again, I had to smack myself. The two point trem is just awesome, very easy to work with.

I have over 15 various types of Fender Strats so that's why number 1 stayed under the bed for a while. I think I was for some reason afraid of turning her ugly...lol...yes it sounds strange!Q!

Anyway, I would say that the 08 Standard would have to be up there with the best of standards ever produced by Fender. Just my thoughts.

Let us know what you think, ohh and please post a pic of yours if you have one.

Here is mine.... I rate it a 9/10.

Not having played a vintage strat I can only compare them to a early 90s strat and newer.I could easily give it an 8.5 or 9.I had a 2001 MIA and its much nicer.I dig the gloss fretboards and the tone is really sweet.

I love my '08 American Standard and I can compare it to a vintage Strat... my '65.

I'm a fan of the 2 point tremolo, reverse wound, reverse polarity middle pickup, the 22 fret neck with medium jumbo frets, the staggered tuners and the Delta Tone system.

I'd give it a 9.5 out of 10

I have a black 08, just like Mikes above, and love it. I can't think of anything I would change on it, and it plays great. Therefore, I give it a 10.

Very Very Nice everybody!!!! They are all just so Beautiful...

I think it's time to sell a couple of my other Strats to purchase another 08.

This time it will be an Olympic White Standard with Rosewood neck.

I would only Mod it with a Mint Green Pickguard and Aged White pup covers/switch tip/knobs.

That would look real cool + it would already have all the goodies that comes with it.

Keep the Picks and ratings coming people...too awesome.

I would rate 'em 9/10. I have the 07 excellent quality built like a tank. I can do (am not gonna) SRV at Macambo style destruction and this thing will stay in tune.

I rate it 9 because I have two issues with it. One is the "moody" pickups, which for some reason sound different everyday I play them. I swear I did not touch my amp/pedals settings  . The other one is lately, after I played Les Paul standard, I wish It had a thicker neck.

Being the only Fender I've owned, and not wanting to buy another after playing this one, I have to give it a 10.

kineman, I've got the exact same guitar as you (08 MIA, 3-tone burst with maple fb) and I have to say that it's easily the best electric guitar I've ever owned. I don't ever see a day where I'll be selling it. Of course, I do fancy a 57 Heavy Relic Reissue that qualifies as my dream guitar so I reserve the right to change my opinion someday. 8)

I have a 08 Olympic White Maple MIA Standard Strat I bought new around christmas this year. Out of the box I would give it a 8.

After having the following done:

Replaced tuners for locking tuners
Recut nut to make it lower
Refinished frets in Plek machine
Standard Setup
Put in Fralin Vintage Hot pickups
Swapped out Delta Tone for standard tone pot
Enlarged hole on back cover to give access to string ends when Tremolo is setup flush to body

Now it is a 10.
