It's a 29'er. :)

I call it the "Angry Chicken", but that long upper horn lays up against your chest and makes the guitar sit perfect for playing, seated or standing.

It's maybe not the prettiest guitar, but it sure is comfy!

Wow, what a sorry bunch. Just kidding , I use an old 3" leather strap I got back in the early 80's, also a 3" Levey's tooled strap. The old one is'nt paded but the Levey's is. These hold heavy ash guitars nice and firm.I'm to haveing some of these ailements(late 50's too many time falling off the old coffee table doing Gilmour& Clapton solo's ). The wider the strap the better. Tuck it a little higher under your arm.If you want lite, try a Parker Fly. I thought I'd seen almost everything but that is a cool looking guitar.

Think I'll revisit this thread since there are so many more posts. Somebody mentioned being in shape. No, I am not in the best shape. I need to lose about 40 pounds. My back hurts some days just because of this. The car accident years ago put me in a neck brace for a week or two. I never had any xrays or anything.

I have been playing around with straps and length of straps. More than the width of the strap, I notice if I put the guitar so it's almost under my gut, my back hurts less. I've always worn it a bit higher. Now that my gut is there, it puts the guitar out further from the core of my body. Imagine holding a gallon of milk at arms length as opposed to holding it with you arm straight down. That's a bit exaggerated, but you get the point.

So I've concluded (for me) it's best to keep the guitar as close to the center of my body for less fatigue. If this means lowering it below my gut until I lose the weight, so be it. I've already switched to light beer. :P BTW, the strap lengths are just about maxed out in this regard.

Oh, and it's lower to middle back pain, not so much shoulder.
