I'm thinking the inherent flaw is a 2 point trem in a softwood body. I know of at least one other person that had this happen with an American body....not sure what the wood was. There's only about 1/2" between the post and the pickup routing.

From the looks of it, the glue bond held. It seems like it basically just left a veneer glued to the body, and a smaller version of the original plug popped out. I hadn't changed anything from the setup it had when I bought it. I had D'Addario Chromes in .11 on there from the beginning.

We're gonna try to glue it again...see what happens. I've written Fender to see if we can work something out. If I can't and it does it again, I probably will get busy with the router and glue a hardwood strip in there. Then I'll go to a 6 point trem.

Isn't there a warranty for when things like this happen? :?

As far as I know there is a limited lifetime warranty- does that extend to Squier instruments too?

So the repair held but the wood broke out again? If thats the case it sounds like the wood is bad at that one point. Very unusual for it to be at such a isolated point. You'd expect spots of it all over.
