Hey all - when I was a kid my first guitar was a mid 80's Fender. It was a Strat style body with only one humbucker pickup, no single coils, rosewood fretboard, a red body, black pickguard and a black headstock. It didn't have a Floyd system - just a regular tremolo.

I'd love to track one down but I'm having trouble figuring out what exactly to search for. I'm guessing it was probably Japanese. Don't remember if it was Squier or not.

Any help figuring out what exactly it was would be so appreciated!

I had a blue one almost purple. Mine had hss without pickguard and a real Floyd. the head stock was black with silver letters that only said strat. Since the letters looked like they were written with lipstick that was the nick name for them. I think the official name was HM Strat.

The HM Strat debuted in '88. Mine was definitely older than that, and the logo on the headstock wasn't the one you're describing. This is driving me nuts!
