Ok I know this is a loaded question and it comes down to simply what you like to play with. Still, any opinions on which Strat I might want to check out more for the style I like to play? Just want some ideas is all, anything would be helpful.

Oh yeah the plan is to get a Fender made Strat. I have a Strat style Schecter that I like a lot but still think I want to own an actual Fender Strat. Is that what you meant?

What is your budget????? That should narrow the choices down

anyways, you're not going to go wrong with any of them, what is the price range you're looking for? that will help narrow a lot down

Well I don't want to say that price is not an issue but it is second to making sure I get the right guitar. I'd spend at least 2k if it was the one that I want.
Again this is not to sound snotty but I'm more concerned with getting the guitar that makes me happy since I see this as more of an investment in me and not just some toy I'll hang on the wall :)

At $2k you're venturing near Custom Shop territory and you really can't go wrong with any of them especially if you like vintage styling since that's where the Custom Shop shines. $2k will get you even further with a used Custom Shop Strat if you care to go that route. You have the whole Fender non-Custom Shop catalog to choose from if you spend less than that.

It's hard to say specifically which model because blues/blues rock just go hand in hand with Strats! Any Strat will do (except you might get a few chuckles taking a pink Floyd Rose equipped Strat to a blues jam!).

Just my opinion, but I like playing the blues on vintage style Strats that have rosewood fretboards and low output vintage style pickups. A '62 American Vintage resissue would suit me just fine.

Consider a Strat with a thick neck - will cut down on hand fatigue from all the bending done in the blues style. Check out this review from StevieSnacks on the Kenny Wayne Strat. Anthony makes a lot of good points in what a solid blues Strat might include:

It is a Squier Bulllet Strat I bought for$60.00 at a local music store. It was a trade in. Still, that's about 50% of the retail new cost.

Is there a particular tone/style you're after? Who are some of the guitar players who's tone you like (Strat players or otherwise)? Do you normally play clean or do you use a fair amount of distortion or overdrive? Do you like vintage style single coils, over wound single coils with higher output or humbuckers? Or do you plan on replacing the pickups anyway? Which neck profile do you prefer? Thinner shapes like a C or soft V, or the much chunkier U or D? You could buy basically anything short of a Custom Shop Strat for 2k, so there are a ton of possibilities.

I'm more into Rock style Blues. If I could grow up and be like Eric Clapton I would be a happy guy :) As far as the other topics I guess I really don't know enough about guitars to answer those questions yet. Do you know of a site that helps describe some of these things so I can at least get an idea what I might be into?
