Why are these offset? It seems they have been since day 1.

I have the same situation on my MIM strat, but for some reason my MIJ strat has the holes line up perfectly. I am wondering if the press that cuts these pieces don't hold the highest tolerances. If anyone knows more about this oddity let me know.

Just get rid of that thing. I took mine off and put it away. Not worth even having on.

How many springs do you have in there ?

If you have 4 or 5, try taking one off, 3 are sufficient, and the holes will lineup. If you only have 3, adjust the claw screws slightly. Where there's a will, there's a way.

I have only 3 springs in mine and it doesn't line up. They line up front to back, so it's not pulled too far down, it is offset to the side.
