ok... so heres the deal... i just came to own a case here about 2 hrs ago... was driving home from dropping off my aunt and came to a bunch of stuff t the bottom of a driveway with a "free" sign taped to the pole next to it. apon getting out to look there i see a Fender guitar case!! it felt heavy but didnt look inside as it was on a fairly busy road and it was rush hour. got home. brought it inside the house... opened it up... and nothing... i can def tell there has been one in it since i can see all the string marks on the inside lid of the case. think someone just got it befor i did... or there wasnt one at all in it when put there. ANYWAYS... the reason why i post it here is because when i looked it up everything about it including the color, trim, interior, latches and hinges and emblem all match a 1966 jazzmaster? also found something that said stratocaster case online too... figuire i would put it up here and see if i could get some help with it so i can figure out exactly what i found... dont think i posted this in the right place but couldnt find a place to post this. HELP ME OUT!! thanks!

ill email some pictures of it if you think you are able to help me out!

Pictures would help. Otherwise, you've got what you said you've got... a Jazzmaster case. So what's really your question? I'm confused.

That's cool man. If you could get a picture or two onto a photobucket account or similar and then post links or actual photos here, we could tell you for sure what you got. Considering a new case is about a c-note... don't look for too much unless you can find a desperate collector.

Well good on ya man. I hope it's of value then you have a good find! I'm no case expert so someone else may chime in here and tell you more about what you got. I'm just a noob that has posted a lot. Heck... I carry my Stratocaster in a used "Ibanez" gig bag. Well... it keeps the scratches off and has a pocket for extra strings, winder, etc...

Good luck man.

I was thinking it was a bass case by the width of the string spacing.

Mass huh? I'm in Rutland... my son is in his last year at Harvard (no, I'm not rich, he's on full scholarship) and he lives on Peterborough just two blocks from Fenway Park. 8) Nice part of the city.

A good condition Fender case from the '60s is worth a minimum of $200, up to maybe $400 on the real high end. There are collectors who are looking for such cases to match to their guitars. Great freebie pick up by you.

Didn't mean to ignore your question... I like rock, blues, some pop... the usual suspects Skynyrd, Clapton, Beck, Beatles, Zep, Doobies, SRV... you know the type. And I like a bunch of newer stuff too. Staind, Fuel, Godsmack, Audioslave... etc... 8)

I get miffed at the radio stations around here. I wrote the program director of one and told him... "60 years of rock and roll and you guys play the same tired crap day after day after day! WHY?!"
