Not to toot my own horn but...toot toot! Just kidding.

I know $120 may sound expensive, but I recently made the switch to a Toneshaper SSS-1 Switching system for my guitar, http://www.acmeguitarworks.com/ToneShaper_for_Stratocaster__P2032C218.cfm, and so far I like it, their website list 5 different tone cap combinations but their is really 38 (way too many), not to mention the 2 different volume kits (really 3) or none, however you prefer. You can run your pickups, normal, blender, or parallel, use vintage wiring, modern wiring. Really cool is no need to solder anything. I can try a ton of different pickup combinations quickly and not break out the soldering iron. The only thing I don't like is to make some adjustments, you will have to destring and pull your pickguard off, though I have managed to make some adjustments by loosening the pickguard and just barely reaching the sliders with something pointy.

**Disclaimer- I am no way affiliated with (ACME) Toneshaper, though I wish I was because then I would have job.
Thats interesting I've never heard of one of them. Curious to know how it's installed with no soldering? I might look into it but I like keeping things as simple as I can haha

It's like those speaker connections where you push a little button, slide the wire in, let go and it's locked in place. It is pretty simple, the only other downside is you can't use active electronics, I don't anyway so it was a non-point with me.

Cool. Can ya have neck and bridge selected at same time? What's that sound like?

That is actually how I first installed it, I was a bit unimpressed, so I went to parallel wiring, which turns two pickups on at the same time in parallel and keep it like that now,I love it. Sort of like a big humbucker. (neck+mid or mid+bridge and you control it using the last tone knob.)

It was definately a consideration, but since it's not a one trick pony it can almost justify itself, not to mention they did not skimp on using quality pots and switches and jack, and I do believe the board itsef incorporates panasonic caps, which at least is not the lowest PCB manufacturer out their. But hey, I was just putting it out there for you to see. Ultimately whatever you decide to buy will be what makes you you, right?
