Hi there,
I'm looking for a couple of the "F" plastic inserts which are part of the rubber insert style control knobs on the 83 Elite Strat. Anybody have some of these or know where I can get them?
Thanks in advance, Harland

Hello!

I do like the Elite strat knobs. Only place i've ever seen then is on Ebay and they are not cheap.

Hope this helps

Thanks Andy, I guess I'll have to give that a try.

I asked the same thing a couple of years ago and grabbed a set of them.

Really hard to find!

Good luck!

Yeah I've seen them sell for like $80 I think on ebay. But you know, it's ebay, so I'm sure sometimes they sell for cheaper.

A small batch of Elite Stratocasters were available with normal Strat knobs and a regular 5-way selector switch.

Here's a shot of a Vintage White Elite which has been custom-built for Eric Clapton in the mid-1980s. This guitar is an hybrid and has a '57 RI Strat neck fitted.

These aren't genuine but they're a pretty decent replica. I have a set and the top cap seems to be an exact copy in that it attaches with the same indicator pin as the elite but I have no idea why because the caps are totally blank. They could be used as replacements I suppose. I do prefer the construction of the original but I assume some changes were required to avoid patent violations most notable would be the raised numbers versus the flush numbers of the original... and the lack of the "F" on the cap, of course.
