I suppose it's only half strat (and even that half is made by Warmoth)...think mini-strat.

So last night I was at the bar and I guy I know gave me this 82' Fender Bullet with a messed up neck. I happened to have this Warmoth neck kicking around that I've been meaning to use for a 70's strat project and it happened to fit the Bullet Body.

I replaced the saddles with some Mexican Standards (the orig. height screws were so corroded they couldn't be saved) , replaced the pup covers and tone and volume knobs to vintage white ones, added a missing strap button and a few string ferrules and there you have it.

It plays and sounds sweet and despite my usual guitar snobbery, can see me hanging on to this one for a while. [img][/img]Image

It's the same as a regular Strat... 25.5". It would probably be fun with a 24" neck too but I like the extra frets to noodle with.

Very cool. Ideally I'll find an old guitar and just tear it down and put it back together and then build one of my own. I'd love to get trained and be a tech if it could feed my family.

Hoey when i lived in Edmonton (where i believe you are,) there was a place just off Whyte ave (and i wanna say 103 or 104,) called le Guitare Classique, he used to offer a full coarse, you would pay for materials and teaching time, and you would build a nice classical guitar. I always regret not doing that before I moved.

They're just aged white Strat covers and knobs...they're pretty easy to find online from any parts dealer (or on ebay)

The orig knobs were super cheap-o feeling and looking...no gold ink for the letters and numbers. I've never really liked the way the old Mustang pup covers looked either so replace those.

I was wondering too... if by exposing the pup poles, it improves the sound or do magnetic waves travel through plastic w/o losing anything?
