The guitar is only a year and 2 months old. its a 08 dlx strat. dont think things should be failing after that short a time.

Is it somthing that humbuckers handle better than a single coil? Thats something i can live with, but i cant live with a serious pickup fault after only 14 months.

I don't know if it's a fault exactly. It probably isn't.

It could just be that you're asking too much of those particular pickups given your apparent taste for high gain in your particular environment. Some pickups haven't changed in design from the original vintage models when modern rock levels of gain were unheard of.

As I understand it, some pickups are designed to be at least partially microphonic simply for their performance characteristics.

If high gain is your thing and you still want single coil - I can recommend Seymour Duncan SSL3 Strat replacement pickups. They are more powerful than many humbuckers. No doubt others here can also make recommendations..

Ok so it has the SCN pickups.

They should be able to handle a fair amount of gain. But before you start replacing pickups or filing a warranty claim, have you tried playing NOT standing right in front of the amp?

Does this squealing problem occurs with all pickups or just one or two? Does it happen with the S-1 switch depressed or not? Too many variables that need to be answered.

Yeah in general humbuckers can handle more gain than single coils, but your SCN's are anything but vintage style single coil Strat pickups since they have a modern design and 60 cycle noise cancelling. If a pickup (or pickups) are found to be the culprit, I hope Fender takes care of it. I'm not sure what their warranty process is like.

Ah yes, the SCNs have got a very healthy output indeed - the bridge is about 11k.

Try following the instructions above and lets see if we cant narrow it down..
