This has nothing to do with the topic, and I apologize, but I can't help but find it funny that your last pic looks like the guitar is wired straight into the wall plug above it...

That's the wall of sound. I'm looking for one myself.

Tomi that's a great looking guitar and you seem to like it so condition the hell out of the fretboard and if need be, you can always .000 steel wool the frets. I think .000 is the finest, anyway, I do that on occasion to my guitars. Just be careful in doing so. Don't get into the wood. use masking tape if needed.

I use 0000 steel wool myself. He wouldn't even have to mask the board, a thin cardboard or plastic template which would expose the fret and cover the immediate surrounding board area would be infinitely more expeditious.

I think rehydrating the neck wil be enough for now.
I do like it a lot. And can't buy those anymore so I'll keep it.

Frets aren't that bad and as Martian said they might also recover when fretboard is lubricated.

Thanks.

martian is right on the money. use fretboard conditioner before you do any more playing. But I suspect that your neck will be fine after that.

On the topic of locking tuners. I have em on one of my guitars. they are a convenience when changing strings, but that is all they are. if you have problems keeping your guitar in tune they won't help it. A properly set up and maintained Strat with the normal tuners won't have any tuning issues.

hmmm, am std with s1 switching,
sounds like you bought a fender american deluxe hss, im guessing you paid about 1078.00 for it. its black and has abalone fret markers and lsr nut.

the pickups are the same as am deluxe, except they are wound hotter on the hss.

Hmm... I don't think that they would dare to do that. As far as I know American Std's had S-1 switching until 2006 or sth. No lsr nut or locnkings... The pickups are very differently sounding than on a deluxe - more raw, unfiltered... Singles tex-mex, humbucker is also different-not sure though.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

hey mbtomi, my bad. i posted after you posted pics. i didnt realize the strats prior to 2006 had s1 switching.
fyi, my white am strat was dry like that too, i use lemonoil, and it worked wonders. your strat looks great.
