is there any fake deluxe on the market ?? im not very familiar with the deluxe

so i was wondering if this one was legit ... the guys asking 1000 $ canadian which is kinda cheap for a deluxe .
it has all the stickers s1 switching etc... ..

1. is it ok that the logo on the headstock is chrome ???

2. does the deluxe have " original contour body" on the headstock ???? ... my standard has it , is it ok that the deluxe doesnt have it ??

maybe im just being paranoid . but 1000 for a "new" deluxe is kinda cheap .

yes that is normal for an american deluxe

they are supposed to have the fancier chrome logo
that say's fender stratocaster and that is it
no (original contour body)
i have noticed a lot of people decreasing their prices
as the new ptrice list recently came out with better pricing
sounds like a good deal

Looks legit to me dude. The Chromeish looking logo comes on the Dlx models. And I believe the color is Olympic Pearl; which is pretty standard for the Am Dlx. I think the model is American Deluxe Stratocaster. The dots are also abalone (SP). Nice guitar. 1K sounds a little low. But if it is open for bidding, and it's legit, it is sure to go up.

I'm not an expert though, so hang out for a bit and one of the guys, who know a lot more than me, will be around and offer some comments as well.

Peace,
84

Nice strat :D I have one in candy tangerine that I love. If I didnt buy mine, I mightve gone for a V-neck or an ash.

Without seeing the serial number, it's hard to figure out what year it is. Although if price was any indication, perhaps 2006-8? thats a stab in the dark. but the case offers a clue.

Chrome logo, S1, SCN's pearl or a tortoise shell guard, abalone markers, buffed headstock, locking tuners, aged plastic parts, deluxe trem, contoured heel...

They came out in 3 colour SB, Montego Black, Chrome Silver, Olympic Pearl, Candy Tangerine, and a few others.

Heres mine, the photo doesnt do it justice as it was taken with my phone. Good luck with your purchase! :

It's looks legit to me.

I have a 2001 American Deluxe, she's a real beauty. As you can see, the Fender logo on the headstock is chrome.

Looks bang on to me SkyC.

Not sure about the case, but I dont have much experience with deluxes other than my own. Which came with a tweed case.

Definitely legit. The case is correct as well. I hate those fender cases with a passion! Why do the standards come with the nice TSA case and the deluxes include these junkers?

At least yours came with a case! I had to purchase a case separately. But I got a 2000 Deluxe for $700. They only charged me $100 for the TSA case. I think $800 is a great price for a Dlx.

So, you bought your guitar about when this thread was originally started. Funny how two year old threads suddenly pop back up.
