Post subject: restringing help

Im replacing my strings and im in the process of taking the g string off but i cannot get it to go through the hole, any tips?

Do you mean the ball end of the string is stuck in the trem block? Then just use a low E string or an allen wrench or some other thin and rigid item to poke it though. It happens all the time.

Are you using the right hole or running it through a tremolo spring hole? Also, is the string used or bent already?

Check and see like Metropolis said if there is a broken ball end in there, or if the holes are not lined and you do not have enough of the hole showing you just have to push down on the trem a bit and the hole will line up.

Yea thats a problem too. I just take my thicker tool and punch it in the hole from front to back until the busted ball falls out the back end.
