Given the opportunity, mine come off in the store. I despise those stickers. Especially the equipped with Bullet Strings stickers. Man they're hard to remove!

Showing up at a blues jam with stickers still on make you look like a total dork.

Nothing screams noobie than plastic and manufacturers stickers on the pickguard. The longer you leave it on the harder it will be to physically remove it. It's going to curl up eventually anyway. None of my guitars came with it on it anyway. I guess the dealer removed it before I got it. I don't buy new guitars from big chain stores. I'd rather get the service and setup from Mom & Pop stores.

TAKE IT BACK!!!! Seriously, that's for the customer to do, not the store. I would be kinda leery buying a guitar from someone who did that. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I would be real suspicious that guitar is not as new as the salesman claims. I would not buy a supposedly new guitar without it.

No you don't understand, it was on it when I tried it out, and I watched him take it off and he did a free setup and had me check it out before I left the store. That's why I deal with Mom & Pop shops. I don't give a hoot about the plastic. That's just silly and it's a pain in the butt to take it off. It's called SERVICE. I've spent a lot of money in that store and they appreciate it. If they were an Egnater dealer I seriously would have bought my amp there.

Years ago, you just bought the guitar off the wall in the small shops. You had to ask to play it. You just didn't grab a guitar off the wall and start wanking away. There were lots of small shops around. They would give you a cord, a strap, a couple sets of strings ans a handful of picks. Today, in the chain stores, you're lucky if the salesperson knows his arse from a hole in the ground.

Did you do what I did? After taking the clear plastic off the pick guard I tried to peel off the bullets strings sticker on the back. I tried for several minutes before I realised there was clear plastic over the whole plate. It came off clean (with the remains of the bullets sticker)

I left the plastic on my 06 Tele until last year on the night I got it autographed by Marty Stuart and The Fabulous Superlatives.
