"Well, hello Mr. and Mrs. Mayer. And how is that son of yours...."

Can you imagine their reaction to this?

perfect example of his humor is this video, which is by far one of my faves. this was right after continuum hit stores.

anyone who doesn't realize he wasn't serious watch that.

I agree, yogi.

I appreciate your confidence, but it's not so much an issue of Forum behavior as it is how deep you seem to be into your advocacy for this artist. His present position both professionally and socially enjoys a business organization which supports it. It does not require your compromising your own integrity and esteem within which your are held by others. Unless there is something outside the ken of this Forum, I see no personal gain for you in doing so. I think you need to look deep inside your self and see what you are realizing for yourself with respect to any real or imagined association with this artist and his world and see if there are any alternatives to providing the same satisfaction for yourself. You need to acquire standing in your own right through your own accomplishments, and not through some loose association with someone else's achievments. To put it in the light of present day events, I don't that there are many, if any, members of this Forum who are impressed by what ever inside track you may have with respect to JM and the course of this guitar project. In fact, with the sheer (IMHO) idiocy and insanity of the manner in which these 83 guitars are going to be released, I would not be surprised if there were great resentment among the membership if your were to prevail in your acquisition of one. Your best course, through this entire timeframe, would have been better laid out by maintaining an absolutely low profile with respect to any priviledged information. Instead you sought standing among this community for your knowledge base and this was not wise. I attribute this solely to your youth and relative inexperience in these matters. As you mature, and you have years before you ( and I certainly wish you many) this experience will come to serve you.

Doc

The fact that the interview was painfully unfunny, infact downright dull. Is the biggest joke of all.

Lucky for him he's a guitarist, he'd starve as a comedian.

I fail to see anything funny in any of it. The guy rambles on in some inane way that makes your typical ketamine user look like Billy Graham.

Now there's an interesting comparison. Having administered the drug professionally,
the induced trancelike state (being a dissociative anesthetic) is far more preferential to any commentary JM might have to offer in full faculty.

Perhaps, if it weren't so potentially tragic.

you know what is wrong with this country? everything is so damned PC. the liberals of the Northeast have ruined real life and an entire generation. /getting offf soapbox
i am not and never have been a John Mayer fan. i think he's a great player, i just dont dig his stuff. that being said, the man was trying to make a point, but everyone is so busy worrying about his wording that the point gets lost. i would like to say that as a Black Man, I WAS NOT OFFENDED. i dig every kind of woman except asian. does that make me predjudiced? if he was ever told a restaraunt was full, then he might have a $@!&#% pass. stop being so damned sensitive. i have a very healthy self-image and even if he were calling me a $@!&#%, guess what? i still make what i make and my dick isnt any shorter, so who cares? stop it already.
if i had a booger hanging from my nose and didn't know it, you people would say i was nasally challenged and leave me to look like a douche until i saw it myself. i would rather have someone say, hey dude, you've gotta booger hanging. wtf.. just say what you mean and mean what you say and everything will be everything.

keep feeling those Blues...

Well said. You know I have this theory the racist people are the first ones to make a big deal about any little slip up as they love the attention. The media are no better either for hyping it up. It is like child school ground behavior pointing the finger looking for the next someone to blame.

I think its a win for John Mayer in the end all this free publicity with his new tour just started. Not that it looks like He has a problem selling tickets.

If that is a typical example of how you express yourself, I hope it is the last time you reply. What an offensive jerk.

I guess adults cannot handle the subject matter and even though I started the thread it should now be locked, due to the same reason I posted it. I will stick to guitars.....
