I pulled the trigger on a 62 reissue strat but was curious as to the build difference between a custom shop strat and a reissue strat as far as materials, historic accuracy, etc.

Can someone give me an explanation or post a link/video as to the difference?

Also wondering about the 'think skin nitro'. Does that mean its just a thinner Nitro coat so it wears faster?

The main difference (besides price) is mass production line assembly versus hand made personal attention to detail. The other differences are in the parts and processes used which can be found on this site. Do a thread search. there have been countless discussions on poly versus nitro.
