That's a relative question. It depends first and foremost on your experience with wiring and soldering. If your good at both, it will only take a few minutes as the terminals and their assignments on both switches are identical provided you use the same brand blade switch. In other words, electronically as well as physically, either is a direct replacement for the other.

Actually, you get exactly the same as the other two pickups in terms of hum. Meaning, NO extra. You do get a slight touch more of high end when the middle pickup is on with either of the other two though and that's a good thing.
