The VG is very versatile, but unfortunately, the pickups are very weak. I put in a set of Texas Specials which give the boost in clarity and volume that the guitar deserves. The Roland pickup is very weak. Is there any way to boost the volume of the Roland?

Thanks :D

Have you tried raising the Roland pickup so it's closer to your strings? I did that on my VG to get more volume for the 5th and 6th strings when I'm using the acoustic models.

Hello Rockinghorse,

Make sure you have fresh batteries,
from my understanding regular batteries last
only a few hours and NiMh rechargeable are reccommended.
Bear in mind if your plugged in your draining power, so when possible
unplug for longer lasting batteries. Hope this helped.

Cheers.

The Roland pup is supposed to be 1mm from the bottom of the 6th string

I must say i love this Guitar..... but as i also like to Play Gilmourish stuff ....

so...

I will be instaling some Seymour duncan SSL-6's in this probabbly next week.

all three positions... was thinking of attempting to install the "hidden " switch like in the Black Strat but think these pickups will be hott enough without the switch also don't know where i could put it as i have not had the pickguard off yet....

anyone modded thier VG strat ?

any input would be greatly appriciated.

once project is complete i will post some pictures and maybe some youtube videos with before and after sounds ....
