Awesome guitars, I'd love to have one, but its it worth the price? Maybe a reissue, but Custom Shop? I dunno. Perhaps if you want to hang it in a display case to show it off, but Strats are meant to play. They're a working man's guitar.

All I can say about 70's Fenders, is that my buddy bought a Strat brand new in 1972 (paid $220  ) and is quite happy with it 38 years later.
I myself had a '78 P-bass that was just about perfect for me, it looked, sounded, and played beautifully. I had to sell it a couple of years ago but only because I was desperate for money to pay bills, If I'd had an alternative source for cash, I'd still have that bass today. From my personal experience I can say not all 70's fenders were crap. I believe that to be a gross exaggeration.

I agree on that. It´s more of an urban legend, I own a 79 (81) monaco yellow and sounds beatiful and see no quality issues at all.
Ritchie Blackmoore played on 70´s strats, Genn Tipton, Ike Willis. too, and those are heavy weights.

Can anyone answer this question?

To answer your question, "Yes, that would be available..." but I'd have to add to that statement, "...how much are you willing to spend?"
If the Custom Shop offers a model as you described (not an individual "your specs" request), it would be pricey.
But if they don't, specific "your specs" Custom Shop requests are very expensive, and it will be a while before you get your axe.

All of the Custom Shop axes I've played are really nice--some are spectacular--and have some really unique features...however, for the price, I'm just as happy with my MIA Stratocaster and MIM Telecaster (both modified to my specs).

If I were in the tax bracket to be able to afford a CS, I might do it, but given my propensity of switching pickups, modifying electronics (switches, etc) and accessories (pickguards, knobs, etc), it might be stupid for me to lay down the cash (considering the fact that a Custom Shop instrument is more of an investment-type of purchase that keeps its value better if left original).

If you're like the rest of us unwashed masses (and a CS is not financially feasible), you could "make" a '69 Fender with a reverse headstock with a MIM Strat (I'm guessing you're wanting it to be Olympic White 8) ), put on a single-ply white pickguard and get a reverse headstock neck from Warmoth or Mighty Mite...the Custom Shop 69 pickups are readily available from Fender (I've even seen them on the shelf at Guitar Center)...

...then all you have to do is pick out your 'fro and put on a white leather suit and a headband...watch out for the red wine + Italian sleeping pills combo, though. :(

Ah well to answer your question I'm 15 and I'm getting a job soon which equals about 6-7 grand a year (my first job) so I think by the end of his year I may be able to afford a 69 strat or some other MIA strat. And I was thinking for the 69 strat for it to be black with the white pickguard and reverse headstock.

There is no best guitar for the Blues...That is what is great about the Blues it can be played with heavy crunch or clean ,active pickups or low out put..Strat or les Paul,Flying V or Telecaster,Acoustic or electric,Fender or Gibson,Marshall or Mesa boogie..There is no wrong way to play the Blues..

Bottom line the Blues has nothing to do with what guitar or amplification you use ..The Blues comes from inside of you and how you express yourself through music...

Any strat through a tube amp will get you close. You can tweak it from there to get the exact sound you want, but a strat through tubes is the essence of that sound.

And, the blues can be played through ANYTHING man... if you feel it, it comes out through your instrument.

The tone comes from you hands, not the guitar. Amps, well, different story. Don't think you're going to nail BB King with a 100w Marshall stack on full gain....

I suspect that Gibson ES-335 hollow body (with humbuckers) through his Gibson Lab-Series 2x12 combo might help BB get his sound. But no doubt, he has a unique posture and attack.

He really prefers the Fender Twin.

I can't get the NOS John Mayer Black One Strat since they're all now spoken for, so what are some other nice fender Strats in a price range of 1700 to 2000ish dollars?
