Hi bobc2: the ones top right on this page are what you are looking for:

http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/screws_bridge.htm

Those labelled "American Series" should fit the current Am Std - but by all means send that website an email to double check before purchase.

Many other sources for those screws too, online and realworld. Any Authorised Fender Dealer, for starters.

Any help?

Cheers - C

My question is why do you need them? What happened to the originals? A hardware store might not be the best option. Then again, what do I know? If you have at least one, take it in and see what they say.

Speakin from my experience of trying every hardware store in the country! to find an allen key to fit a standard MIA strat saddle, I eventually got one at a Fender dealer...he had one spare threw in the drawer and gave it to me..sound of him. I'd have bought on line to save the hassle and wasted journeys!

Hey your gettin' some good advice here, Ceri knows the score on fixin' up strats and your might save yourself some time and effort.

Here is a link to the part number. It is on the list on the right. A fender dealer may have them in stock(call and ask) and if not can order using this part number. Good luck!!

Hi again bobc2: I very much doubt you will get those screws at a regular hardware store, but if you want to try you will find the size quoted on that site I linked to (above).

Personally, I'd just buy 'em online or at a local guitar shop. Quick and cheap.

Good luck - C

I'm sorry for not explaining in more detail.

For the past week and a half I have been experimenting with different string sizes and brands. I have also been experimenting with the tremolo in floating it, blocking it, and setting it flush.

I have had to set it up many many many times. The phillips slots in the intonation screws start to strip out after a while from setting the intonation with the string under tension. I tried loosening the string each time, but started breaking strings from tuning and detuning too many times.

I found some 4-40 3/4" screws at the hardware store and had to cut 1/8" off of them, but they are working fine and will do until I find some stainless ones.

I may just call Fender and order a set.

Thanks everyone...:)

If you go to the McMaster-Carr website you can order any type of screw you could ever want and pay alot less. For 5-10$ you can get a box full.

I went to sears hardware and got them for 15 cents a piece, but they are not the stainless ones.

Like I said go to McMaster-Carr and look up machine screws. You can choose the material, length, thread count, color (black or not), head style, drive style, etc.

You can get the 316 SS for 11 cents each... and you'll have 44 spares!
