Hi Hop. I've been working on work and working on my attitude. Trying to get right-sized again before something blows up.

How've you been?

I've been good Jay but was just wondering about you my friend. Good to have you back. Just added you to my facebook!

Well it is going to come down to personal preference and I would just say you could not go wrong on either. I also just dont understand when guys say noiseless pups are toneless. I have 4 guitars that have them and there is nothing toneless about them. I would not call going into GC and playing one for a few minutes a fair judgment. For those who dont care for them I would say borrow a guitar from a friend that has one with them and work with it for a few days and I think your opinion would change. I had asked Mike Eldred what his main axes were and what he would grab if his house was on fire. He named three guitars two being Fenders a Tele and a Strat and his Strat has noiseless pups. Now I would believe he knows a good tone when he hears one.. The point I am making is if you rally gave tham a fair shot and did not care for them that is fine but I think a bit of a bum wire goes out and guys dont really give them a fair shot.

I'd go with the AVRI '62 but I'm highly biased. That is what I own and it's my favorite guitar. I like vintage style guitars and have no interest in so-called "modern features". I want a guitar that feels like Leo himself handed it to me.

the American Deluxe.

The reissues aren't exact replicas of the 60's instruments so what is the point. In my opinion it's just someones take on "the good old days".

Well, after checking out an American Standard, an American Standard HSS, and a few customs, I pulled the trigger on a new American Vintage 62 reissue Strat last night.

Hopefully I'll get it in the next few days. I gotta say I looked at the Custom Shop guitars and nothing really came at me like the 62 RI did.

I really don't get the whole 'relic' thing either... but to each is own.

I view a guitar as an artist views a blank canvas. Make my own marks and history with it. I'll post up pics and my review when I get it!

If you could pick one of the following, which would it be and why?

1. Fender American Deluxe (Ash w/Rosewood)
2. Fender American 62 reissue (Alder w/Rosewood)

'62. I'd avoid that whole S-1 gizmo.
