yeah dude, what kind of music and backtrackings do you do?

you can select a setting and adjust the drive, treble, bass, and channel volume to your liking.

Basically I play blues and classic rock stuff. (not very good yet, but that is another story, LOL)

I really enjoy improving solos over Pink Floyd (Marooned, Coming back to life, Comfortably Numb etc. I use Guitar Pro to get a feel for the solo parts, but don't play them 100% accurately.

If you have a Jam this will be easy to understand. I seem to spend about 80% of my time on setting 9A, which by default is titled FightFeeling I believe, with the pup selector in the neck position. For distorted sounds I use the Sweet Child of Mine, Comfortably Numb or Purple Rain setting.

I guess I just have not worked on any of my amp setting skills as of yet, because I am concentrating so much on just learning to play. There is a "tone clinic" at my local GC Tuesday which I am going to attend, if for no other reason than it is a good excuse to go to the store and see what I can spend some money on.

I also think that I am at a point where I need to start playing with other people. I will have to look for some jam buddies. Hmm that leads me to another post I will have to make......

try the royallush setting, bring the drive down abit. for solos. it has a nice delay, reverb overdriven sound that knocks your socks off.
or try and tweek the redhouse setting, and you can save the settings under user.
yeah, i love my spider jam, but most of the time im plugged to another amp.

Does the Spider Jam come equipped with the USB like some other Line 6 equipment?

Peace,

With the SD slot, I'm guessing you could share tones, and load them into the amp??

I believe that is the case. I will check on it. There is a website that has tone downloads, but I have never played with them and there are not a lot there (maybe half a dozen).

I play through a Pocket Pod and tool around on the “tone sharing” portion of Line 6 site from time to time. But, IMO, what one’s guitar “should sound like” is so subjective. And rarely do I find a tone (on the site) that I love.

Where I was headed with my questions was; you may be able to d/l a tone someone else created for that particular amp and a specific artist/song. You may not fall in love with it, but then again you may find something to work from.

Good luck and Peace,
