This might be old news but I don't remember seeing current Am Std Strats available in Silverburst. Might be a factory special run for Sam Ash... HSS configuration with Tex-Mex single coils...

Pretty cool looking, at least in the photos..

Also found a MIM HSS Std Strat in Sienna Sunburst available March 15 at Music123... again, this might be a FSR..

Ooooo, I really like the looks of the American Standard Silverburst. If that was a SSS I could be in trouble.

I agree fully with john.bohn, being a traditionalist as far as Strats go I just have a thing for SSS Strats but the Silverburst is surely a beautiful guitar.

If you like the color, put a SC in the bridge after you get one? I would. BTW, love both bursts.

I like the idea of being able choose Sienna Sunburst on something less expensive than the Am Std... The specs for the MIM indicate its an ash body too... I saw an alder body, 2006 FSR MIM Strat at GC last year in Sienna Sunburst ..

Just trying to control my GAS in 2010. Passing on an HSS Strat is working... so far.

Sam Ash seems to get its share of rare colors.I remember the MIA 60th ann came in honey blonde from them.Nice color ,but I would pass on the HSS.I wouldnt mod it to a sss because it would void the electronic part of the warranty.I would settle on a color to get the guitar that I want though.Although there are some colors that I would totally pass on like graffitti yellow or aqua marine metallic. :o One of my favorite colors right now is Charcoal Frost Metallic.Have one with a maple neck and it is really nice to look at.

That's cool. The economy has a control on my GAS right now.

An American HSS in Silverburst and a Mexican one in Sienna Sunburst? Why not an American Telecaster HS guitar with a chrome-covered Fender Enforcer humbucker in the neck and super 5-way/S-1 switching combinations?

Well, there are two FSR Mexican mojos with new cool flake finishes: Sunfire Orange and Root Beer. They had the same specs as the "regular" Standard HSS guitars.

The Root Beer HSS uses black plastic parts and a rosewood fretboard.

Chronic GAS.... just gotta learn to live with it, I guess. Now, that Sunfire Orange MIM is just, well, triggerin' more GAS!
