Hello Turmoil,

Firstly welcome to the forum, it's the best there is.

Congratulations on you new Stratocaster and the world of guitar playing.
We should have all been so lucky to start off with a great guitar.

Don't be shy, we all like a photo or two.

Best of luck with it.

Cheers.

Hello all!

So I had a few issues over the past few days with the guitar I bought. It sounded like something was rattling in the body, which wasnt normal, one of the guitar strings ended up snapping, almost hitting me right in the eye, so I took it into the GC where I bought it last night. The guy took the thing apart, ended up scratching the finish in several areas, gouged some of the frets, and a few other things that just pissed me off.

I ended up going in today and told the manager I'd like to exchange it and that I was very upset at what had happened. I took a look at a few different strats and absolutley fell in love with a new American Standard HSS with the Sienna finish and Rosewood fret board.

I took it down for a brief inspection and notices dings, scratches and a few different things that just didn't sit right with me since people come in and play them all the time and just really don't handle them gently. The manager checked the inventory and said he has only one in the back unopened straight from Fender with the EXACT specs I wanted: Fender American Standard HSS w/ Sienna Sunburst Finish (Ash Body) and Rosewood fret board.

We took a look at it and MY GOD!!! She is BEAUTIFUL! We let her rip in the sound room and the thing plays and sounds like butter, great sustain, just amazing. Best of all, I was able to negotiate a price of $985.00 including guitar and Hard Case! So happy right now.

I also lucked out and beleive this may be either a 1 piece body or a REALLY amazing job on a 2 piece body. Pictures of this amazing guitar are below, but if someone could answer me this: Whats the major differences between an Ash body and Alder body on the strats?

Thank you for the compliment.

I use to play the piano for years and come from a musical family. I grew up with music and am REALLY looking forward to be able to play an instrument again.

To pick up an instruement and make music is very euphoric, its one of those natural highs you get.

I've heard many who play piano have no problem switching to guitar... Most famous of those is Mr. Edward Van Halen..... :o :D
