Yikes!

When I was doing my will one time my lawyer told me that sometimes when families can't agree over possessions and there is no obvious pecking order she has sometimes found herself going to the house with all of them, drawing lots for who goes in which order... And then the first one chooses an item. Then the next one chooses. Then the next - and so on, round and round till everything is gone.

She said it can take hours - or days. And she said that even then there can be bitter rows over things like sets of silver spoons. Is that one item or a dozen?

Upon her advice I have a clause in my will that if people can't come to a friendly agreement in a limitted time the whole lot goes to a charity. She says that usually focuses minds!
