Just got back from guitar center with my new American Select Strat, and I figured I'd upload a few pictures. The lighting isn't the best right now, so I'll try to get a few more higher quality ones up later tonight. It's Transparent Crimson Red with 2 Tex Mex pups and a diamondback humbucker. LSR roller nut, and an s-1 switch.

One more for now, before I took all the plastic off the pick guard. Sorry they are so washed out, I'll try to get some better pictures later.

Here's a few slightly better quality pictures. Also included is the tag identifying it as an "American Special", and the serial number that checks back to an '09 Deluxe Series Strat. You can see the mahogany coming through pretty well in a few of these pictures.

Yeah, i love the black headstock with the chrome lettering. Don't really see it too often.

i like the transparent finish.... at first i couldnt tell tho and i thought "holy #$%&ing christ it looks like a bloody strawberry!!" but then i saw how its transparent and thought it looked beautiful..... its funny how sometimes those small details can determine if i think a guitar is ugly or if its God with strings lol

Poor lighting in the first set of photo's. Even the second round of photo's don't completely do it justice. One of those colors you have to see in person to truly appreciate.

Anyone know the proper maintenance for the L.S.R. roller nut? The paperwork that came with the guitar says to add a small amount of machine oil occasionally. Anyone else have experience with this?

VERY nice. I LOVE the combination of the red/black/chrome. Do her justice and play her often.

I just got a Deluxe, with LSR; read the same thing. Directions said to use SPARINGLY. I don't think I would consider using it, unless absolutley necessary; I'm thinking the presence of oil would attract dirt. Maybe some canned air during a string change?? Maybe?? i'm up for some first hand experience advice as well.

Peace,
