Has anyone out there fitted the active mid boost system to a Strat with SCN's? I used to have a Claton Strat which i foolishly got rid of, i've now got a 57 Hot Rod which plays better than any guitar i've ever owned but it doesn't sound anywhere near to the old Clapton model with Lace Sensors. Do i fit the Mid boost or dump the SCN'S & go back to Lace Sensors?

SCN's have a fair bit more middle and output than the Vintage Noiseless pickups currently fitted to clapton guitars. I would be worried about it having too much mid and muddying the sound up.
User ZZdoc had a one off customshop with SCN's and midboost fitted. I've been trying to get him to clarify the sound of that guitar for some time.

In truth I'd be cautious about putting the circuit into the guitar. Cavity spacing on the hotrod is minimal. I installed the boost circuit/Vintage Noiseless combo on a MIM. I constantly struggled with noise and was never happy having the battery location disable any trem use. In the end I bought a Mexican Powerhouse strat body to house all the gubbins. I didnt want to route that old body, never mind my hotrod's.

I couldnt get it to work with the battery in there too, but did find the installation instructions helpfull.
