Hello all I purchased 2 fender american deluxe's, first one was an SSS I loved the neck and sound. Only problem was I needed a guitar with a humbucker for our harder music so I got a fender american deluxe HSS, the guitar played great but it was just not heavy enough. So I bought a Charvel San Dimas Slime Green and needless to say it plays great and is just about as hot as my ESP with an emg 81-83 combo. So I have no need for the 06 Fender American Deluxe HSS I never really played it but for 2 hours @ 2 practices so it has about 4 hours total on it, the color is called Montego Black its black with a gold pick guard and is in new condition. Now my question is I am looking at the 2009 and possibly 2010 models ( I guess that is the year, I am just looking at the current price on the brand new models) and they are going for around $1,600.00 When I got mine in 06 they were going for around $1,200.00. I am wondering if my model is worth less cause of the year, or if the guitar series itself went up in value since 2006, so my mint 06 might sell for say $1,200.00 if the series is going for $1,600.00 new. I am going to college atm and need a heavy duty laptop for some classes I am taking. So I am selling this and 2 other guitars I do not play that often to get the money. I really need to get every penny out of these guitars as the laptop is very expensive. Thank you for you time and I wish you all the best of luck in you musical endeavors.

If you're looking for a price you should ask, a good place to look is on the ebay completed auctions listings. The option is accessible when you click customize search options and this will give you an idea of the average price paid for your guitar in the used market.

Beware: the guitar market in general is soft, meaning it's a buyer's market. People are not rushing to spend top dollar on guitars these days and so, you might be best advised to hang onto the more valuable guitars (your AD Strat, for example) in order to avoid "giving" it away.

Good luck!

I'd think with the market, as it is,you'd be looking a 1000.00 tops. Lot of people out there unloading gear for one reason of another.Good luck....... 8) Mike

Ditto, the going rate for an American Deluxe HSS is from $900-975 in mint condition according to my sources.
