I think I have 50th. Ann. 1954 Strat. But I'm not sure. It is Sunburst, more of a reddish/ orange than brown. It has the rectangular nickel neckplate w/ 50th Anniversary stamp. I picked it up @ a pawn shop without a case. I looked up the serial # and all I got was made in Corona CA.

Was there only 3 style 50th Anniversary Strats made?
50th Anniv. 1954 Strat
50th Anniv. Deluxe w/ gold neckplate
50th Anniv. Strat. w/ gold neckplate
And are all the 50th anniv. 1954 Strats mastercrafted?

Any info would help.

it's prob a normal 50th Anniv American Std Strat , the 2-tone sunburst Am Se 2004 had a special one play (though thicker than the vintage style single play) p/g , also came with a nice tweed case (50th Anniv markings) , plus the sunburst 50th had custom shop pickups - supposedly the same used in the Custom Shop Master Built 50th '54 replica model .

i bought one of the Am Se 50th sunburst models in Oct '04 , then traded it in for the CS MB version in the summer of '05 . i can post a picture of the Am Std 50th for you to compare to (easy to tell though really - based on the thicker single ply p/g and the neckplate, if it were the CS version you'd note that the CS logo on the headstock with sig plus on the CS MB '54 , the serial is on the Trem Plate, also all Am Series std strat's and maybe the Deluxe version's too had the 50th neckplate - where the '54 cs mb 50th doesn't have anything on the neckplate) .

i don't havd an image hosting acct deal setup right now, so can't post pic, but you should be able to tell which model you have by now, any more questions just ask[/img]

There were actually 4 different 50th anniversary Strats in '04.

The CS 50th
The 50th Deluxe
The 50th AmSe.
and mid year the 50th MIM.

All american made Strats in '04 had the 50th logo on the neckplates.

heres my 50th AmSe.

longhair, that is beautiful grain and color. Plus, I can now notice the thickness of the pickguard, that sucker is thick! Nice...
