Hello,

I own a Fender Highway One Stratocaster HSS 2003. I don't like that humbucker is of a different colour like pickguard and singles. I was told, that plastic material in a humbucker can't be replaced so I would like to replace the pickguard, platics of singles and anything else what is white. Pickups, switch, knobs and tremolo arm tip would be the best in black. But what for choices do I have with the pickguard? Do you think that simple black would be the nicest as I don't want to have my guitar too much colourful. Isn't there something like brown what would match with the fretboarg or with the body?

If there is someone who is good with the Photoshop and have lot of time, I would be very thankful to see this guitar with different pickuards (black, tortoise, ...) and black pickups, knobs, switch, ...

Thanks, mates :D

You have a couple choices. They do make a sticker type application to change the color of the humbucker since you can't change its color. But you can also put a chrome or gold cover over the humbucker like Gibson humbuckers. With the natural finish, you could try a white pearloid or some other color. The black color tone won't mix well with a nautral color. You could also try axewraps.com, there are some cool ideas there too.

Personally, I would do a black pickguard and covers for the single pups. I think it would go well with the rosewood fretboard and body. Thats just me though. I think guitar center has a few different pickguards that work with strats. Try looking around their website, or any other for that matter to see if you can find one you like.

There is also a black pearloid too that looks sweet. I think the black pickguard is too plain unless you have a loud color guitar it goes with. Like the Fender Splatter Strat. That'd look awesome with a black pickguard.
