Just bought this Custom Shop Pro Closet Classic, Shell Pink. It's an 07 in mint condition.

Really didn't need another as I own two ridiculously awesome strats.

The strat includes the Custom Shop set-up; The action is near perfect which allow notes to spring out with minimum pressure. Full bends on every fret ring pure without freting-out. Phew, as I bought this on ebay.

One only new feature that I don't already own, is the grease bucket circuit system . Really like it, because now I can use the volume control without losing tone. However, my other strats have more tone & tone control. Weird, right?

Either way, let me know what u think? And if u post pics of yours, I'll post more of mine. (I'll post pics anyway.) Thxs for hanging with me. Tomorrow night I'll be giging with the new shell pink n my moded american deluxe strat.

Where's the skunk stripe?

Who's brilliant idea was to remove the skunk?

Bonus points for anybody who can give me an logical explanation as to why Fender decided to remove the skunk stripe from back on the neck of the Stratocaster Pro Closet Classic series? Over.

So far I like:

1. Grease bucket wire system. (Control the volume without losing tone.)

2. LSR Roller nut. (So Far the LSR rolling nut is doing it's job by allowing the strings to move back n forth freely while bending or applying tremolo. Also, better string stability. Does anybody know what LSR stand's for?)

3. Sprezel tuning keys. (These Sprezel tuners r lower to the neck than any I've seen, which is great for eliminating the need of a string tree.) (String tree/s r just another something something restricting the strings from moving freely.) (Additional Sprezel tuning holes in the neck were made n manufactured by Fender, as appose to my typical nail n hammer hole starter. Actually, in the past I really have degraded Fender necks solely for the installation n use of a good set of tuning keys. What else can u do? Fender keys suck imo.)

4. 70's neck? (Really don't care for the big goofy head stock. But the full- size brand new large frets rock.)

5. Samarium Cobalt Pups. (So far these pups don't sound as good as my 54's or Texas Specials, but I'll know after giging tonight.)

6. Deluxe style tremolo. (May have to replace with a Callaham Block, will c.) (The Deluxe style tremolo spoils any chance of a vintage look.)

7. Contoured Heel for Easier Access to Upper Frets. (Yeah right, but looks real cool. Didn't Jeff Beck have the same custom contoured heel on his yellow strat?)

Special Note: After years of experimenting with strat set-ups, I finally uncovered the secrets of how to set-up a strat properly. The result forces the guitar to stay in near perfect tune, (Even without using those expensive Tremsetter's which if not installed by the Fender manufacture, immediately devalue a guitar's body.). Both my strats stay in tune all night! Yes even with aggressive play n hard tremolo use! No joke!!!

Let's face it, if a guitar doesn't stay in tune, then it's simply not set-up properly. (Haven't had a chance to set-up the shell pink strat yet, though. That will be another post.)

Both these tuning keys/heads r Sperzels. Notice the Sperzel set on the Shell Pink (left) is much lower?

Wonder if these r special Sperzel machine heads privy or exclusive only to the Custom Shop, anybody know?

Thinking about replacing the tremolo with this Fender 2010 Bent Steel system?
